OEP attracts large audiences and regularly receives excellent reviews. Our summer tour opera for 2009 was Haydn's delightful comic opera Il mondo della luna (A World upon the Moon). It was a huge success with our audiences and has been much praised by the critics. We are very experienced in mounting high quality productions and touring them to a range of often remote and sometimes tricky venues, including barns, courtyards, gardens and school halls, alongside of course conventional theatres. We enjoy the support of some leading figures in the music world, including our Patron, Sir Colin Davis, Dame Janet Baker and Sir Charles Mackerras.

Do talk to us about booking our summer tour opera. We aim to bring first class, affordable opera to a wide audience in East Anglia and beyond. Alternatively, consider one of our opera galas. With leading young singers and fine orchestral accompaniement, this makes for a magical evening's entertainment. These are always extremely popular, suiting a wide range of audience tastes. Music education projects for young people are an especially important part of our work. During 2010 we are offering a choice of imaginative workshop projects, both in London and East Anglia. Further information on these is available on our Education Page, with contact details for preliminary enquiries from schools and promoters. During 2011 in London we shall give the world première of Heart of Darkness at the Linbury Studio Theatre in Covent Garden. This new chamber opera by Tarik O'Regan is based on the famous Joseph Conrad story of the same name. Several music festivals have already expressed interest in this project and in 2011/12 we plan to give a number of performances around the UK. “ … simple, but inventive staging, strong singing and some fine orchestral playing.”
